The Singapore Plumbing Society (SPS) had the pleasure of hosting a distinguished delegation from India as part of the Architect Institute and Builder Indian Tour Study Trip. The visit, held across two key dates—5th & 7th March 2025—was organized in collaboration with the Singapore Plumbing Society (SPS), Building and Construction Authority (BCA), the National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) MAHI and NAREDCO NextGen. The exchange highlighted Singapore’s advancements in the real estate built environment while fostering deeper industry ties between the two countries.
Meeting with BCA and Innovation Tour
On 5 March 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the Indian delegates met with the Director of the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), in a session facilitated by SPS. The dialogue focused on Singapore’s regulatory frameworks, innovation in construction technologies, and sustainability initiatives. The session was followed by a guided tour of BCA’s innovation facilities, offering delegates a close-up view of Singapore’s efforts in transforming its built environment.
Visit to SPS Headquarters
From 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the delegation visited the SPS office for two consecutive exchanges—SPS x BCA x NAREDCO MAHI x NAREDCO NextGen, followed by SPS x NAREDCO MAHI x NAREDCO NextGen. These discussions focused on built environment plumbing practices, skills development, and opportunities for future training collaboration between India and Singapore. SPS shared insights into its certification systems, water efficiency initiatives, and workforce capabilities, laying the foundation for continued cooperation.
Marina Barrage Visit
On the evening of 7 March 2025, the delegates were brought to Marina Barrage from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The visit offered a unique perspective on Singapore’s integrated water management strategy and use of public spaces, aligning with the tour’s broader learning objectives on sustainable infrastructure.
To round off the visit, SPS hosted a dinner from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM at River Walk Tandoori Restaurant, where guests enjoyed a spread of North Indian delicacies. The evening served as a warm, informal platform for further bonding between SPS members and the Indian delegates, reinforcing the spirit of friendship and mutual respect built over the two days.
